DOYLESTOWN RUGBY CLUB NEWS

March 25, 2019

High School Boys’ Team 

The Doylestown Rugby High School Boys’ Team opened its league season with a victory over visiting Media on Sunday, March 24, 2019.  The final score was 34-29.  Try scorers for Doylestown were: Dalton Reinheimer (1), Joey Capriotti (1), Juan Campos (1), Thomas Fitzpatrick (1) and Devin Crowley (1). Dalton Reinheimer kicked one conversion.  A penalty try (7 points) was also awarded to the Dragons. Media had 4 tries, 1 conversion, and a penalty try.  Doylestown will play LaSalle College High School in an away match on Sunday, March 31, 2019. 

High School Girls’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby High School Girls’ Team defeated Gettysburg in a home match on Sunday, March 24, 2019.  The final score was 110-5.  Try scorers for Doylestown were: Nina Mason (4), Alani Marks (3), Grace McCullough (3), Sophia Linder (2), Isabella Poole (1), Tamia Freeman (1), Merrin McSorley (1), Maddie Doyle (1), and Ayla Bleznak (1).  Nina Mason kicked 10 conversions.  Gettysburg had 1 unconverted try.  Doylestown will play the Valkyries at 12:00 noon on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the home pitch, the Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania. 

Junior Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Junior Boys’ Team defeated Media at home in a league match on Sunday, March 24, 2019.  The final score was 34-24.  Try scorers for Doylestown were: Dan Fish (2), Jack Wierzbowski (2), Nick Krause (1), and Joe Mignon (1).  Xavier Dantzler kicked 2 conversions. Next up for the Dragons is Berks in an away match on Sunday, March 31, 2019. 

Youth Boys’ Team

The Doylestown Rugby Youth Boys’ Team defeated Media at home in a league match on Sunday, March 31, 2019.  The final score was 76-12.  Try scorers for Doylestown were: Lucas Wicen (3), Matt Cleland (3), Cade Aivazian (2), Aaron Kelly (2), Jack Campbell (1), and Jack Williams (1).  Jamie Weir kicked 7 conversions and Matt Cleland kicked 1 conversion.  Jamie Weir was Man of the Match.  Next up for the Dragons is Berks in an away match on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
